Debangana Sarker
Debangana is a popular present generation Rabindrasangeet Singer.
She has three Rabindrasangeet solo albums from the esteemed banner HMV Saregama and four more from other banners.
She regularly performs in India and also across the United States of America. She has performed thrice in the revered Banga Sammelon (NABC) as a solo performer and Twice in Bangomela (2012 and 2014) as the only invited Rabindrasangeet Artiste.
She is a regular performer in Indian Television, in all popular Bengali Channels.
In addition to Tagore songs, she also sings songs from Atulprasad, Rajanikanta, folk songs from Lalan Fakir and also old Hindi/ Bengali songs from the golden era.

Her Training in music
She started learning music at the age of nine at the leading school of Tagore music, Dakshinee, Kolkata. This ultimately helped her develop a wide vision of Rabindrasangeet and as a result of which she obtained an inspiration for a distinctive style.
The initial years of Debangana’s singing career started at the age of nine, under the guidance of eminent teachers at Dakshinee. She received extensive training from her Guru, Sri. Sudeb Guhathakurta (Current Principal of Dakshinee) and later from the maestro Sri. Rano Guhathakurta. She received advanced training from the exponent of Rabindrasangeet, Smt. Ritu Guha. She also received training in Indian classical music from Sri. Indraneil Majumdar.
Received the prestigious Dakshinee Puroshkar, given to young budding Rabindrasangeet Singers.
Currently, she is under the tutelage of famous Rabindrasangeet singer, Smt. Apala Basu Sen.

2013: HMV Saregama released her second solo album “Praner Hillol”. This album has songs from the voice of the main protagonists in Tagore’s dance dramas and Operas
2012: HMV SaReGaMa released her Debut album with them- “Apona Bhulia”. This album has 10 Tagore Songs from different Parjayas.
2012: She performed in Bangomela 2012, as the only Rabindrasangeet Artiste from Kolkata.
2011: Appeared as a guest artist in the esteemed show “Good Morning Kolkata” in Kolkata TV.
2011- Performed in NABC 2011 (Bango Sammelon 2011), at Baltimore, as a solo performer.
2010- Performed in NABC 2010 (Bango Sammelon 2010), at New Jersey, as a solo performer, as one of the only local/ domestic solo performers.
2010: Appeared as a guest artist in the esteemed show “Aaj Sakaler Amontrone” in Tara Muzik.

2006: She gave a solo performance at Sanskriti (Washington DC) during Durga Puja.

2004 – NABC 2004 (North American Bengali Conference – Bangosammelon). - She performed as Promoda, the main protagonist, in Tagore’s play Mayar Khela, enacted and sang for the same role.
2001: She performed as Promoda, the main protagonist, in Tagore’s play Mayar Khela. She enacted and sang for the same role, in Sandip Ray’s movie, Mayar Khela.
Her performance as Promoda, in Mayar Khela, was broadcast on National T.V. network (Tara). She also gave live performances of the same role at Delhi (Kamani auditorium), and Mumbai.
She has been a lead performer in all the major programs of Dakshinee. This includes her performance at the golden jubilee (1998-1999) celebration of the Dakshinee and also the yearlong celebration of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth Anniversary (2011-2012).
Debangana has extensively performed in many music shows all around Kolkata and also in other major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Patna, and Baroda.
