Jimut Roy

 

Jimut got his initial training in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music from Guru Padmashree Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. He has participated in All India Murari Smriti Sangeet Sammilani and secured the 1st place in Khayal singing on 2013. Additionally, he also participated in the Doverlane Music Conference. Jimut was awarded "Ugam National Award" by Pandit Shivkumar Sharma as the most promising young classical singer in Mumbai. He also got the SHRUTINANDAN TALENT AWARD in memory of Guru Jnan Prakash Ghosh by Guru Padmashree Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.

 

Jimut has been a prolific and energetic singer and was successful in various reality shows and competitions. He was the finalist of "Ticket to Tollywood", “Big Golden Voice” an FM radio reality show which took place at Fever 104 FM and 92.7 Big FM. He was a part of Zee TV Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 and the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 - 2017 hosted by Zee Bangla.

 

Some of the other work Jimut did was playback singing for Bengali commercial films and Zee Bangla Original movies. He did sing for Lead male-character (Raj Chandra) in much appreciated Bengali Daily Soap - ‘Rani Rashmoni’. He also did the playback singing for another most popular Bengali Daily Soap ‘Debi Chowdhurani’. Jimut was the groomer of ‘North Indian Classical Vocal Music’ at ‘Goong’ conducted by ‘World Arts Harmony’.He is performing as a professional Vocalist in many districts of West-Bengal and as well as many other states of India and abroad including the USA.
