Four grown-up brothers – Judhistir (Oldest), Bhim, Nakul and Sahadeb (Youngest) – live somewhat dysfunctional life in the same house along with their home-helper Kanto. Each of them has his own personality and taste. Eventually when dysfunction reaches its peak Bhim and Sahadeb engage match-makers - Ram and Shyam respectively to find a bride of their own individual choice for Judhistir to bring some semblance of order in the house. Nakul being the westernized one also wants the daughter of Mrs. Ghasu, one of Nakul’s equally, if not more, westernized, associate, to marry Judhistir. Demand for a groom is so high that even the parents of Shyam’s one of the candidates show up at Judhistir’s place uninvited to plead about their daughter Puti. The match-makers and Mrs. Ghasu get into verbal and physical squabbles as they try to promote their candidates. Unbeknown to the brothers Judhistir secretly marries Chhanda - educated but not from a very well-to-do family - and make the announcement six month later. Shocked and dismayed three brothers decide to stay under the same roof but with separate arrangements for food which turn out to be a disaster and Chhanda realizes it. Chhanda, shrewdly coaxes the brothers - one after another - to eat with Judhistir and her and also hatches a secret plan to get the brothers to marry the women that the Match-makers and Mrs. Ghasu have been promoting.
