Dear Friends,

First of all on behalf of Bichitra, it will be my pleasure and a great honor to serve our community as the President of Bichitra for the year 2009 – 2010.

We have weathered many storms and enjoyed many happy moments. Our community, which is like our home away from home, has strived to preserve our culture and heritage, in the hope that we are able to pass them on through generations . It is time and an opportunity once again to come together and serve in our wonderful community.

So, let us get together and make this year an enjoyable and a memorable one for us as well as for our children. Please join me in welcoming the new governing body for the year 2009-2010.

God bless you all and warm welcome to Bichitra.

Saraswati Puja 2009

    

    

      

        
Saraswati Puja was celebrated on Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at Grissom Middle School in Sterling Heights. Event chairperson Animesh Das and co-chairperson Keshav Rakshit thanks all of you for participating and making this a memorable event.

        

    

  

    

      
Holiday Party 2008

    

    

      
Bichitra celebrated its annual holiday party on December 12, 2008 at the Troy Community Center. The event featured live christmas music, magic show, and wholesome family entertainment. Santa made an early appearance for the boys and girls.

    

  

  

    
Durga Puja 2008

    

      
This year's Durga Puja was celebrated at Beer Middle School from Friday October 10th to Sunday October 12th. Event Chairperson -- Sudipta Datta, and the puja committe put together an awesome event that was one of great success. 

      
The Puja Committee, the Executive Committe, the Governing body as well as other participants convey their special sincere thanks to all volunteers for an excellent Durga Puja event.

Annual Picnic 2008

    

    

      
This year Bichitra's Annual Picnic was held on   Friday, July12, 2008, at Gunnar Mettalla Park, Wixom. It was a great event.   The crew arrived early at the Park Shade (pavilion). Promit does it again! In the State  MathCounts Competition, a math competition for the Middle School students (7th  and 8th grade students) sponsored by the National and Michigan  Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE/MSPE) was held on  March 28, 2009 at the GM Tech Center in Warren, Michigan.  Larson  Middle School of Troy stood first among all Middle Schools of the entire State of  Michigan.  Our own Promit Ghosh along  with other three members represented Larson School team.  Promit also got the individual 7th place  among the Middle School students in the State of Michigan.  Our heartiest congratulations to Promit,  proud sister Preetha, and parents Partho and Shampa Ghosh!

Keshav Rakshit was recently conferred with the 2007 US President's Volunteer Service Award for Service and Civic Participation in recognition of his commitment to strengthening our nation and making a difference through voluntary service.
