Bichitra Social Services - Giving is Living

Bichitra is a social organization and as such, takes it social obligations seriously. We are blessed with the untiring leadership of Dr. Pranotosh Nag, who over the years has brought out Bichitra out of obscurity to a stage where we pitch our efforts collectively to benefit society as a whole. It has been our equal pleasure to have served not only the Bengali community, but also the countless of other social causes that transcend not only geographical boundaries, but also those of religion, caste or creed. Bichitra's social services unit (BSSU), solicits private donations from charitable donors to impact causes that better the society that we all live in.

We have benefited scores of causes and continue to do so in our earnest humble way. Be it rising to the barbarous September 11th, tragedy, in salutation to our adopted homeland or the accidental fire killing children in a remote village on the south Indian peninsula, . Please join us in celebrating our culture of giving and donate to the BSSU. BSSU raises funds throughout the year, a substantial part of which is raised from revenue of the sale of various media of Bengali and generally of Indian interest. These include music (cassettes, CDs and DVDs), Bengali Books and Movies (Cassettes and DVDs). We apply 100% of the profits from the sale of these items, directly to the needy. BSSU helps financially support the Ramkrishna Mission and the Bharat Sevashram Sangha (India) in their community work of helping the less than fortunate.
